For being a larger production winery, J. Lohr continually produces lush and delicious wines that continue to define the Paso Robles potential. This new blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec begins with strawberry, violet and baking spice on the nose, while the palate's creamy mouthfeel carries mocha, cappuccino, caramel and black cherry flavors. There's just enough tannic firmness to the lush profile.

The 2017 Pure Paso Proprietary Red Wine checks in as mostly Cabernet Sauvignon blended with 27% Petite Sirah and small amounts of Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Malbec, all brought up in French and American oak. Deeper ruby/plum-colored, this fruit-forward, medium-bodied red has plenty of chocolate, spice, and herbal aromas and flavors. It's a rounded, mouthfilling, chewy effort to enjoy over the coming 4-5 years.
